Gears of War 3 Mutators List and guide

COMET – Earn the gold Shock Trooper medal (for earning a certain number of First Blood ribbons). As you roadie run, you'll build up energy, letting you ram into enemies and run very fast. To get first blood ribbons quickly, play a warzone match against a FULL team of bots on casual, 15 rounds, and get the first kill of every round and you will soon get this mutator.

INSTAGIB MELEE – Melee attacks explodes enemies in 1 hit (doesn't work on Lambent Berserker and Brumaks). You need 200 wretch kills for this mutator. Keep playing Beast mode as the wretch until you get 200 kills. It's better to get a friend to help you they can down the COGs and you finish them of or do it yourself up to wave 4 then restart from begining it won't take long to get 200 kills!

SUPER RELOAD - Earn the bronze Master-At-Arms medal (100 kills with each of the starting 5 weapons). This mutator deals ALOT more damage than normal when you have the active reload and it doubles your clip size for an active reload. Active reload stays on until you use it. Easy way to get 100 kills with the Gnasher, Sawed Off, Hammerburst, Lancer Rifle and Retro Lancer is playing KOTH against a full team of casual bots with the rounds set to 15 and ring capture score set to 240. You will soon rack up the weapon kills you need for this one.

INFINITE AMMO - Earn the Combat Engineer ribbon 100 times (worked on 5 fortifications in one round in Horde). This mutator gives you Infinite ammo for all weapons. You will have to play 100 rounds of Horde anyway to get this, at the start of each round before the start timer runs out, shout a turret, reload it, shoot it again, reload it, do this 5 times to get 1 ribbon, you have plenty of time between rounds to do it 5 times easily.

BIG EXPLOSIONS - Earn the Hail Mary ribbon 100 times (Boomshot kill from over 200 yards away). This mutator gives you BIGGER explosions. It's easy to get Boomshot kills from over 200 yards away by playing the Escalation map in Horde, get the Boomshot and fire from the middle down to the bottom where the enemies will spawn and you will soon get this mutator.

ENEMY REGEN - Earn the silver Aficionado medal (for playing a certain number of chapters in Arcade mode). Non Lambent Enemies will regain health over time if you don't kill them. Keep playing Arcade campaign to unlock this mutator. Every chapter counts towards it. It will be easier to run through arcade on easy settings.

VAMPIRE - Earn the Executioner ribbon 100 times (for having the most executions in a match). This mutator means your health does not regenerate automatically, but you do earn health for dealing damage to enemies. Best way to get this is playing Warzone or Execution on casual against a FULL team of bots. Make sure to execute the enemies. Set match to 1 round only and you will soon get this mutator.

MUST ACTIVE RELOAD - Earn the silver Active Reloader medal (for actively reloading a certain number of times). This mutator makes active reloading harder. The only way to reload is to perform an active reload or your weapon will jam. You can boost your active reloads by playing a KOTH match against casual bots and just keep active reloading over and over to get this mutator.

FRIENDLY FIRE - Complete the campaign in 4-player co-op. This mutator means teammates can cause damage to each other and also kill each other. You will need to complete the entire campaign in 4 player co-op it can be done in Arcade also if you want this mutator.

NO AMMO PICK UPS - This mutator is already unlocked from the start. It simply makes ammo crates disappear so you have to scrounge the battlefield for ammo/weapons.

BIG HEAD - Earn the gold Horder medal (for playing a 1000 waves in Horde). This mutator makes all players heads big and squeaky voices. You just have to keep playing Horde to get to 1000 waves completed!

PINATA - Earn the gold Investor medal (for repairing and upgrading a certain number of defenses in Horde). This mutator drops tokens from every kill and picking them up earns you points. When playing Horde and the end of every wave just keep plugging your earned money into repairing/rebuilding fortifications.

FLOWER BLOOD - Earn the silver King of COG medal (for earning a certain number of total points in Arcade). This mutator means all blood effects are replaced by pretty flowers! It's best to play Act 3 chapter 1 to get the most points in Arcade you will soon get enough points in Arcade to unlock this mutator.

HEADLESS CHICKEN - Unlocked from the start. This mutator makes enemies attack each other for several seconds after they lose their heads. Headshot enemies and watch them run around for a few seconds attacking everything.

LAUGH TRACK - Earn the bronze medals for Tour of Duty (Finish Campaign on Casual), For the Horde (Finish Horde on Casual), I'm A Beast (Finish Beast on Casual) and Warmonger (Finish Arcade on Casual). This mutator adds an audible laugh track to the game. It is fairly easy to complete the 4 game modes on casual especially with friends to help.
